Teen dies in hit-and-run in Des Plaines

Police in northwest suburban Des Plaines are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash Friday night that killed a 17-year-old boy.

The teenager was found at 6:20 p.m. lying in the westbound lanes at 906 E. Algonquin Rd., according to a release from Des Plaines police. He was about 50 feet east of South Third Avenue.

The driver fled the scene before police arrived, the release said. No other details were available.
