Broadway grosses slipped slightly in the third week of August, though the top five shows remained in place (and above $1 million), as they have for most of the summer. Family-friendly musicals and hits such as The Book of Mormon and War Horse remain hot tickets. Speaking of War Horse, the Tony-winning drama and Master Class are now the only two plays running on Broadway. A third drama, Jerusalem, ended its Broadway engagement, and the year-long run of Mark Rylance at the Music Box Theatre, on August 21. (The Tony-winning actor opened last fall in La Bete before headlining Jerusalem.)
