U.S. Senate, governor hopefuls end busy day in Chicago, suburbs

The top candidates for U.S. Senate and governor ended a whirlwind day of last-minute campaigning back on familiar turf tonight.

Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias rallied supporters at separate events in the city, while Republican governor challenger Bill Brady and Republican Senate hopeful Mark Kirk joined together to do the same in the suburbs.
