The national tour cast of Diane Paulus’ Tony-winning revival of Hair is headed to Broadway’s St. James Theatre for a 10-week summertime run, July 5-September 10, with opening night set for July 13. The production, which features a mix of original Broadway cast members, London cast members and newcomers, has played in 20 cities in the past nine months.
The return of Hair gives the St. James, a prime Broadway musical house, an interim tenant during the busy summer tourist season. The theater is currently home to American Idiot, which closes April 24. Hair will resume its national tour after the limited Broadway engagement.
The incoming cast of Hair will feature original revival cast members Steel Burkhardt as Berger, Paris Remillard as Claude, Matt DeAngelis as Woof, Kaitlin Kiyan as Crissy, Darius Nichols as Hud, Kacie Sheik as Jeanie, London cast member Phyre Hawkins as Dionne and Central Park cast member Caren Lyn Tackett as Sheila.
