Christine Lahti, Cotter Smith and Reed Birney will star in Adam Rapp's Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling alongside Betsy Aidem, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Shane McRae and Katherine Waterston. Performances for the previously announced Atlantic Theater production begin September 13 at Classic Stage Company. Opening night is set for October 3, and the limited engagement will conclude October 30. Atlantic Theater artistic director Neil Pepe serves as director.
In Rapp's new play, things are not right in the world as the sky turns a strange color and geese bombard the Connecticut home of Sandra and Bertram Cabot. Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling lifts the veil on the lives of two wealthy American families, and shows how even the most polished people can behave like animals.
Lahti's Broadway credits include God of Carnage, The Heidi Chronicles, Loose Ends, Present Laughter, Scenes and Revelations and Division Street. She earned an Oscar for directing Lieberman in Love and received an Oscar nomination for her performance in Swing Shift. She also won an Emmy for TV's Chicago Hope.
