Groovy! Julie Walters to Play a Hippie in London Comedy The Last of the Haussmans

Julie Walters will star in Stephen Beresford's new comedy The Last Of The Haussmans at London's National Theatre during summer 2012, according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail. Howard Davies will direct. Further casting and exact dates will be announced at a later time.

The Last of the Haussmans follows a mother living with the consequences of her misspent '60s hippie past. The show marks the writing debut for Beresford who has previously acted in shows like Shopping and F**king and Our Country's Good.

Walters has appeared on the London stage in All My Sons, Educating Rita and When I Was A Girl I Used To Scream And Shout. She received Oscar nominations for the film adaptation of Educating Rita and Billy Elliot. Her many other movie credits include the Harry Potter series, Mamma Mia!, Becoming Jane and Calendar Girls.
