Tony and Olivier Award winner Robert Lindsay may be joining previously announced Tony nominee Joanna Lumley in the first-ever London production of James Goldman’s The Lion in Winter, according to U.K.’s Daily Mail. Lumley is reportedly finalizing a deal to play Eleanor of Aquitaine, while Lindsay will take on the role of Henry II. Trevor Nunn is helming the production, which will likely open at the Theater Royal Haymarket in November 2011, according to the publication.
Among Lindsay’s extensive West End credits are Becket and Oliver!, for which he won Olivier Awards, and Me and My Girl, for which he won both an Olivier Award and a Tony when the show transferred to Broadway. He most recently appeared on the West End in Onassis. His television credits include Citizen Smith, Jake's Progress and GBH, and he has starred opposite Zoe Wanamaker in the popular BBC sitcom My Family since 2000.
