The upper crust residents of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest are used to the finer things in life, and in this exclusive portrait, Broadway.com’s resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson gives them the royal treatment they so richly deserve. Director Brian Bedford calls the shots as Earnest’s colorful, cucumber sandwich-eating matriarch Lady Bracknell, while rakish men-about-town John Worthing (David Furr) and Algernon Moncrieff (Santino Fontana) pursue fair ladies Gwendolen (Sara Topham) and Cecily (Charlotte Parry) in this glorious comedy of manners and mistaken identity. About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet.
