In honor of the newly launched Anything Goes revival starring Tony winner Sutton Foster as the brassy Reno Sweeney, we asked theater fans to do the impossible: Select their all-time favorite Foster role! Apparently fans and Tony voters agree on this one, with Foster’s Best Actress-winning turn as Millie Dillmount, the fresh-faced, tap-dancing leading lady of Thoroughly Modern Millie cleaning up with a whopping 41% of the vote!
Coming in second place was Foster's portrayal of the multi-talented Janet Van De Graaff in The Drowsy Chaperone with 17%, and her role as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical took home the bronze with 10%.
With great roles like these under her belt, we're sure Foster is outdoing herself in Anything Goes. Check it out at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre!
