Northwest Chicago Film Society alive and kicking

Northwestern Chicago Film Society, the weekly classic-film series that rose from the ashes of the Bank of America Cinema, has done well enough in its inaugural season to announce a second one, which begins Wednesday, September 14, at the Portage and continues through Christmas. Screening this fall: Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's I Know Where I'm Going (9/14), Ida Lupino's The Hitch-Hiker (9/21), Fritz Lang's Western Union (9/28), Roy William Neill's The Black Room (10/5), Mark Robson's I Want You (10/12), Alan Rafkin's The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (10/19), John Cromwell's Of Human Bondage (11/2), Frank Tashlin's The Girl Can't Help It (11/9), Edgar G. Ulmer's Her Sister's Secret (11/16), the omnibus film If I Had a Million (11/23), Karl Freund's Moonlight and Pretzels (11/30), Lang's Liliom (12/7), William Desmond Taylor's Huckleberry Finn (12/14), and Mitchell Leisen's Remember the Night (12/21).?
