Get ready to weep: War Horse is coming to the big screen on December 28, directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay co-written by Richard Curtis and Billy Elliot’s Lee Hall. Hot on the heels of the World War I saga’s Best Play Tony win (both play and movie are based on Michael Morpurgo's children's novel), Spielberg presents a real-life chestnut colt in the role of Joey, the beloved horse that young owner Albert Narracott (Jeremy Irvine) follows into battle.
