Kyle Soller to Join David Suchet and Laurie Metcalf in West End Revival of Long Day's Journey Into Night

Kyle Soller will play Edmund opposite previously announced stars David Suchet and Laurie Metcalf in the forthcoming London revival of Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night. The production will begin previews on April 2, 2012, and open on April 10, directed by Anthony Page. A UK tour will precede the West End run; further casting is still to be announced.

Set in 1912, O’Neill’s semi-autobiographical play is a compelling family drama centering on actor James Tyrone (Suchet), his wife Mary (Metcalf) and sons Jamie and Edmund (Kyle Soller).

Soller recently received acclaim for his role in The Faith Machine at the Royal Court Theatre. His other theater work includes The Government Inspector and The Glass Menagerie (Young Vic, Shared Experience), The Talented Mr. Ripley (Northampton Royal & Derngate), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare’s Globe Touring) and The Beautiful People (Finborough). He will appear in forthcoming film Anna Karenina, directed by Joe Wright.

Page’s production will feature design by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Gareth Owen. Long Day’s Journey Into Night is produced by Nica Burns Elliot Martin Kim Poster for Stanhope Productions and Max Weitzenhoffer.
