Man stabbed with broken bottle at Lincoln Park night club

A 23-year-old man was hospitalized after he was cut in the face and body with a broken bottle at the Green Dolphin Street nightclub early today, police said.

The incident happened at about 1:45 a.m. at the nightclub, 2220 N. Ashland Ave., police said.

The victim told police that he was involved in a verbal altercation with two men, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

After the verbal altercation, the men returned with a broken bottle and they cut him in the face and body with the bottle, Mirabelli said. The men fled after the attack, Mirabelli said.

The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for trauma, said a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.

Officials from the nightclub could not be reached for comment.

Detectives are investigating.
