Squigs Says Hello to Donna Murphy and The People in the Picture

As Broadway welcomes the new time-travelling musical The People in the Picture onto the boards, Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson set out to welcome two-time Tony winner Donna Murphy to her role as Bubbie, a grandmother and Holocaust survivor in 1970s New York City. Through her storytelling, Bubbie brings the people in a faded photograph (Alexander Gemignani, Joyce Van Patten, Christopher Innvar, Hal Robinson, Chip Zien and Lewis J. Stadlen) to life for her granddaughter Jenny (Rachel Resheff), who loves nothing more than hearing her grandmother’s stories of life as a Yiddish theater star in pre-war Poland, to the dismay of her mother, Red (Nicole Parker).
