A group of 48 lawyers, professors and former judges filed a brief with Chicago elections officials today saying that former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel meets the city residency requirement to run for mayor.
The brief -- endorsed by former federal judge Abner Mikva, Northwestern University professor Albert Alschuler, former Illinois Attorney General Neil Hartigan and others -- reiterates the arguments Emanuel's lawyers made during his hearing this week before the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
