Prosecutors to retry man in '03 Elgin slaying

The Daily Herald reports: A man accused in the stabbing of an Elgin man in the heart in a 2003 home invasion in Elgin will be retried on murder charges, prosecutors say.

A hung jury was unable to reach a verdict last fall on whether Darren Denson was one of three men who broke into the home where Kyle Juggins was sleeping between his girlfriend and their 15-month-old son. Juggins also was shot in the head in a slaying proescutors said was part of a plot to rob a drug dealer--Juggins' best friend--of $30,000.
