Teen wounded by gunfire dies

A 16-year-old boy who was shot and critically wounded in the West Englewood neighborhood Saturday has died.

Frank Hart, of the 7100 block of South Paulina Street, was shot about a block away from his home in the 7100 block of South Marshfield Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

At 7:29 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of a teen shot in the buttocks and leg, according to Englewood district police. Police said the teen heard shots and felt pain, but no other information was immediately available.

Hart was initially listed in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn but died at 11:30 p.m.

No one was in custody and Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
