After giving Broadway.com a tantalizing video preview of his new show, Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, Hugh Jackman officially begins previews of his concert series at the Broadhurst Theatre on October 25. The musical return of the multitalented Tony-winning star is booked for a 10-week limited engagement, opening on November 10.
Backed by an 18-piece orchestra, Jackman will perform what he calls a personal selection of favorite musical numbers reflecting his varied career, including The Boy From Oz on Broadway, Oklahoma! on the London stage and much more. The star has concentrated on movies and stage drama (A Steady Rain) in recent years, but he returned to his musical roots in acclaimed pre-Broadway concert engagements in San Francisco and Toronto.
