Elmhurst police are investigating a report of cruel treatment of animals after a motorist said he saw someone toss a puppy out the window of a car.
A motorist reported Friday that he was driving near Illinois Route 83 and North Avenue at 6:49 a.m. when he saw a man traveling west on North Avenue throw a dog out the driver's side window, Elmhurst police said.
The suspect continued driving west on North Avenue and left the dog in traffic, according to police reports. The complainant told police he tried to flag down the suspect, but the other driver just waved him off, police said.
