Could Katie Holmes have her eyes set an another dramatic turn on Broadway? The actress is considering starring in a Broadway production of William Mastrosimone's psychological drama, Extremities, according to The New York Times. Producers Debbie Bisno and Ray Gaspard are hoping to mount the first ever Broadway production of the 1982 play.

Holmes made her Broadway debut in 2008 in All My Sons. Her many film credits include First Daughter, Pieces of April, Batman Begins, Thank You For Smoking, Mad Money and Go.

Extremities follows a woman who turns the table on her would-be rapist and seeks advice on the man's fate from her roommates. The original off-Broadway production premiered in 1982 at the Westside Theater starring Susan Sarandon with Ellen Barkin, Deborah Hedwall and James Russo. Karen Allen and Farrah Fawcett later took on the role.

The producers said they approached Matt Dillon to play the role of the would-be rapist, but he has a scheduling conflict with another production. Chloe Sevigny is also believed to be under consideration for the project.
