Motorist may be charged with tossing puppy

Dog-Photo121510.jpgElmhurst police say they may decide today whether to charge a motorist who allegedly threw an 8-month-old puppy out of his car window.

Officers say the white and black puppy was thrown out of a car window on the morning of Dec. 10 near the busy intersection of North Avenue and Route 83.

A good Samaritan found the puppy and brought him to a fitness center until police arrived and took the dog to DuPage Animal Hospital in Villa Park.

A hospital representative says the dog is healthy and the puppy--named "Ralphie"--soon will be transferred to the West Suburban Humane Society in Downers Grove to be put up for adoption.
